Excellent system for AI, and it handles a lot of heavy workloads easily with so much RAM. Shipping was very quick for me, and no issues with my system, running Ubuntu 24.04 rock solid.

Really nice box purchasing and delivery smooth and came days before initial estimated.
My only query is could you supply the config that was able to achieve these results.

The EVO X2 delivers impressive performance for its size, thanks to AMD’s Strix Halo platform, 128 GB of RAM, and strong integrated graphics. It handled productivity tasks, local LLM models, and even AAA games at 1440p quite well — though not without issues. The preorder experience was rough, and shipping delays, poor thermal design, and excessive fan noise marred the out-of-box experience. BIOS features are minimal, and there are missed opportunities with port selection. That said, GMKtec’s support team was responsive, offered refunds, and even arranged a replacement when problems emerged. This is a bold, capable product — but one that clearly needs refinement. If GMKtec can fix thermals, improve BIOS options, and learn from this launch, the next version could be a true category leader.

This mini PC delivers excellent performance with a power consumption of just 120W.

There is one curious thing, though: it operated using 8 cores and 16 threads most of the time.
By unlocking the "High Performance" power plan, it switches to using 16 cores and 32 threads.
In Time Spy, the score increased from 9831 (8 cores, 16 threads) to 11201 (16 cores, 32 threads), a 14% improvement.

Will this behavior be officially supported in future driver or BIOS updates?

The GMKTec Evo X2 is an impressive piece of hardware. I have configured it with three separate boot options: Windows for artificial intelligence tasks and gaming, Bazzite for a smooth gaming experience, and Ubuntu for managing my private cloud. This versatile setup allows me to handle everything, whether it is for work or leisure, using a single compact machine. Combined with my Viture Pro XR glasses and a Logitech mouse and keyboard, both of which connect through a single USB Bolt receiver, it becomes a complete and portable system that I can easily bring with me and use anywhere I travel.

초기 예약 주문자입니다. 이번 주 초, 5월 26일에 정상 수령했습니다.

저보다 1시간 늦게 주문한 지인이 저보다 1주일 먼저 배송받아서 문의해 봤더니, 배송무게 초과로 화물이 돌아왔다더군요. 최근 뜬 세금 관련 내용을 보니, 얀웬이 3kg 이상의 무게를 가진 패키지를 받지 않는다는 것으로 보아 이 때문인 듯 합니다. gmktec 이 이전에 이런 무거운 물건을 배송한 경험이 없어서 터진 문제로 보이네요. 기존은 죄다 가벼운 미니 피시였으니..

일단 정상 기동 확인 후에 바이오스 및 EC업데이트가 필수입니다. 업데이트 해야 팬속을 수동고정할 수 있으며, 가장 중요한 VRAM 양을 조정할 수 있습니다. 업데이트 후에는 VRAM 96기가 할당 가능하며, 이후 윈도로 부팅하면 공용 메모리 포함 총 112기가까지 VRAM으로 사용 가능합니다.

세워서 써야 발열 제어가 가장 이상적인 구조이며, 눕혀 쓸 경우 흡기 구멍이 위로 향하는 구조로 써야 합니다. 비록 흡기 구멍이 해당 면 뿐만 아니라 측면에도 있긴 한데, 원체 열이 많이 나는 기기라서 그것만으로는 많이 부족합니다. 다만 이렇게 쓰면 포트 설명 글씨등이 모조리 뒤집혀진다는 게.. 설계가 다소 급하게 이루어진 티가 납니다.

그럼에도 불구하고 마감은 굉장히 잘 된 편입니다. 별도의 흠집이나 접착제 흔적도 없고 아주 깔끔하게 뽑혀 나왔습니다. 아무래도 처음 생산하는 상위라인이라서인지 신경을 많이 쓴 듯 싶더군요.

팬 소음은 꽤 나는 편이며, GPU 부하보다는 CPU부하 때 소음이 잘 나는 편입니다. 오히려 GPU풀로드 시에는 조금 팬 소음이 줄어들구요. CPU위주 작업일 때 팬소음이 꽤 심합니다. 열이 좀 나도 소음을 줄이고 싶으시다면 팬속도를 특정 강도로 강제 고정하는 게 낫지 않을까도 싶습니다. (전 그냥 자동으로 쓰고 있긴 합니다)

The EVO-X2 packaging feels high-quality, and all necessary accessories are included. ROCm installed smoothly under Ubuntu 24.04, resulting in fluid large model inference. Customer support is excellent; hopefully they can maintain – and continue to improve – this level of service.

一週間程使用した感想です。
とにかく、ファンがうるさい、これ何とかしてほしいです。BIOSでバランス選択し、ファンを２０％に設定しても、ほんの少しCPUに負荷を与えると、耐え難いファンの騒音に見舞われます。ミニPCは机の上に置いて使用すいることが前提だと思いますので、ファンがうるさいのは致命的です。アイドリング時ファンが静止しているときは無音ですが、ファンが動き出したら爆音です。このギャップは何で？って感じです。上手にCPU温度を制御できなのでしょうかね。
写真のように横置きにした場合、ゴム足がないと、換気用のスリットをふさいでしまいますが、これは縦置きで使用することを強制しているのでしょうか？、私は都合により横置きを選択、別途ゴム足を４個つけて換気用スリットをふさがないようにしています。
別の写真にCPUの使用率を掲載しておりますが、この場面はアイドリング時で他負荷をかけていない状況です、バックグラウンドでサービスアプリが稼働しているのかわかりませんが、別の写真のとおりCPU温度が８０度くらいまで上昇、このパターンが定期的にきます。これに伴いファンが全開に回り、騒音公害になります。この辺を是非改善してほしいです。
１２８GBのメモリの威力はさすがです、AIアプリとそのモデルを選ばない事は、とても幸せな気分になれます。
この製品を使用する前に、ミニスフォラム、Beelink SER9などのPC使っていきましたが、どれも冷却が優秀で、ファンの音は滅多に聞こえてきませんでしたので、このPC冷却がダメなんでしょうかね。

fast, preset up, windows based.

It's nothing short of amazing. I use it exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It handles all the add-on apps (that you need) and the simulator with ease. During all phases of flight, the simulator is running with a hitch - graphics maxed. I've dedicated 64BG to VRAM and 64GB to system RAM. The CPU runs at a cool 30% utilization, and the Graphics card is running at about 65-73% utilization. I also have Google chrome running and Discord - and all of this on a huge widescreen curved monitor PLUS 3 other monitors, all running at the same time. Finally, a PC that just works.

Excellent computer, no delivery problems. So far very pleased, easy multi-tasking. Runs cool, no worries.
